Based on the latest Asian university ranking released on Tuesday by London-based education and career consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). EIGHT Philippine universities made it to the list of Asia’s top 350 educational institutions. The University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman remains the country’s top school, ranking 70th in Asia. Schools were ranked according to nine indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student, citations per paper, international faculty, international students, papers per faculty, inbound exchange, and outbound exchange.
Ateneo de Manila University, which jumped to the 99th spot from 114th in 2015.
De La Salle University in Manila occupied the 143rd spot, up from last year’s 181st.
University of Santo Tomas, however, plunged to No. 157 from No. 143 in 2015.
Ateneo de Davao University is now on 251-300 bracket. Last 2014, also in the same bracket.
Silliman University in Dumaguete City and Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City were also in the 251-300 bracket
University of San Carlos in Cebu City made it to the 301-350 bracket.
QS has expanded the top Asian universities list to include 350 schools from the region, 50 more than in the previous year.
