“Live young, wild and free, but with limitations.” I always say and live with those words. Enjoying a life you ever wanted and living it in full but still having the reservations and keeping the responsibility is one hard task for a young adult. But the love of God and of the guidance of family makes things smooth and carefree. Well, so much for that all I want to say is that I play around clean with full blown fun!
Anyway, to continue living young, wild and free, our next hangout with my friends will be Iligan City, Philippines! Iligan City is approximately 2 hours of travel from Cagayan de Oro City. It is a highly urbanized City with a booming economy. It is tagged as “The City of Majestic Waterfalls” because of the numerous waterfalls that sit in its area, a total of 23 waterfalls to be exact.
There are many tourist destination in Iligan City.
Imagine visiting a City bombarded with regally beautiful waterfalls?! Exciting isn’t it? Oh yes definitely! So, we had searched in the worldwide web more about Iligan City to find out where we should be going and how things should we be expecting.
Upon the long search and discussions we chose 3 sites to visit in Iligan City. Here are three spots that are worth going to while in Iligan.
Below are the Iligan City Tourist Spot:
- Maria Cristina Falls
Maria Cristina Falls in Iligan City powers the Agus VI Hydroelectric Plant and the main outlet of the country’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Lanao. It is hyped as the “Mother of Industry” and the “Fountainhead of Progress” because of the power it supplies to the whole of Iligan and to most parts of Mindanao.
Vehicle Ride: 10php
As we enter in its vicinity we were amazed by the raging waters and its freshness. The waterfall is also called the “Twin Falls” because it is somehow separated by a rock making it appear into two different falls.
- Tinago Falls
Might be one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever been to. Tinago Falls is breathtakingly amazing. We had really great experience dwelling its cold blue-ish waters.
We’ve had read from other reviews how they are fascinated by its beauty but we never did know that we will fall in love upon seeing how really beautiful it is in real flesh!
But before experiencing Tinago you have to deal with the 365 steps going down to the falls proper. Sweats and tired feet will definitely be gone when you’ll see how beautiful it is. Just remember that you’ll be taking another 365 steps when you are to live the place, so before that take full plunge at its waters, enjoy and really have fun swimming.
- Maze Park And Resorts
Our last destination was at Maze Park and Resorts. The place was really huge and there are other spots you can enjoy such as their mini zoo, skating rink and so on. Nevertheless, its pool resorts somehow catch the limelight after all. It has 3 pools in different shapes and sizes.
Tinago’s 365 steps had worn every energy in us that we weren’t able to experience other things in Maze Park. We wanted to see its parks such as the picnic and fishing parks. But we just had our lunch and let our eyes enjoy the sites of people enjoying the waters. Well anyway there is always a next time.
Iligan City truly lives by its name, it has truly majestic waterfalls! A very refreshing place for relaxation and fun whether with friends or with families. We are hopeful that we can visit other falls in Iligan soon.
Before we home we dropped by to Macaraeg-Macapagal Ancestral House but unfortunately we were too late and the house already closed when we got there
