Now here’s a business idea whose time here in the city has finally arrived. If only I had the capital for a business like this I would have been the first to conceptualize this. The concept is actually very simple and very interesting because it takes what we call “self-service” taken to a whole new level. It’s called self-service because the concept is for customers to cook and grill their own food. The idea is also like a buffet wherein you can eat all you want, except the difference is that in buffets the foods are ready to eat, but in this grill house, you grill all you want and eat all that you have grilled. Make sure that you eat everything that you grilled because if not you will be charged Php200.00 if you have leftovers.
The grill/eat all you want price is just Php 145.00 per person, excluding drinks. I strongly advise that if you eat at Sattae Grill House, you need to make sure that you are not really that hungry. Good thing we ate at Sattae Grill only out of curiosity. Why? You won’t actually be enjoying the idea of grilling your own food because of all the smoke that will be covering up your face, nose, and soon your clothes will smell of smoke. The irritation gets worse when the restaurant is filled up and smoke fills the grill house. The place is semi-open but we only spotted a few exhaust vents at the enclosed places which only makes the smoke issue worse.
How to get there:
From almost anywhere in the city, it’s only a Php6.00 motorela ride to the grill house located at Corrales Avenue. If you are at other popular locations on Corrales Avenue like Watever Family KTV bar, Boy Zugba, and Backyard Burger, Sattae Grill is only walking distance. From the Centrio Ayala Mall or Gaisano City Mall also on Corrales Avenue, you can take a motorela ride.
Going back to the taste of what we grilled. It was a bit disappointing even if the food was grilled very well. Perhaps because the quality of the food isn’t top notch. Even with the Sattae barbecue sauce that they served, the taste was still kind of disappointing. Still, for a new concept and something different to go to with your family or a large group of friends, it’s a stepping stone place before moving on to a better restaurant or drinking place. Maybe someday when I have the capital I can use this concept and serve better-tasting barbecue. Fingers crossed.
Overall, the place is unique so kudos to Sattae Grill House as the smartest concept I’ve experienced so far and I am looking forward to a better development.
