We have heard of a small beach resort located at Danao, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, just an hour’s drive from Cagayan de Oro famous for its nice sunset scenery.
When we arrived at the Monte Richi Beach Resort the parking space could only accommodate some 5 to 6 four-wheel vehicles. More if you factor in motorcycles.

How to Get There:
From the Agora Bus Terminal in Cagayan de Oro City, you can take a bus bound for Butuan City and tell the ticket dispatcher to drop you off at Danao. The resort is on the left side if you are coming from Cagayan de Oro. The fare is only Php 25.00. The fare is the same if you decide to take a Jasaan-bound jeepney from the Agora Terminal.
The resort has a separate pool for adults and a separate pool for children. Since there are no visible life guards, guests should be responsible for their children, the elderly, and even adults who cannot swim.
The resort was fine, though not a good place for photography. The place is not fit for that. You can actually bring your own cooked or uncooked foods to the resort. The resort’s mini-store is almost 50% more expensive than the usual grocery store prices. No corkage will be charged.
We got a two-story deluxe room with its comfort room, mini-kitchen, and 2 upstairs beds that can be good for 4 persons if you will sleep on them horizontally. (LOL hahaha) (An extra bed costs Php 500.00) Other amenities include a TV, lavatory, air-conditioning, and a terrace. This deluxe room is good for family or barkada gatherings.
All in all, if we were to rate the place from 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest, we can give the resort a ‘2.’ The only that could make up for this place is the sunset scenery and clean room.
