Cagayan de oro news – The new busiest transportation hub in Mindanao is the Cagayan de Oro Laguindingan Airport with its earning reaching 100 million pesos in 2014, the air-safety regulator said on Tuesday.
The Manager of Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Area X Airport Jose Budiongan said that the growth of Laguindingan ailine services is tremendously going up since it starting last June 2013.
Area X is composed of airports in Laguindingan, Camiguin (Iligan) and Ozamiz City and two smaller airports in Malabang and Wao that serve the general aviation operations for private aircraft. Laguindingan is the main airport that serves the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, as well as the provinces of Misamis Oriental and Lanao del Norte.
Currently, Laquindingan Airport servers local flight with an average o 22 outgoing flights and incoming with several destinations from Iloilo, Manila, Cebu-Mactan from 5 a.m. Davao until the last flight out at midnight. Budiongan said that Laquindingan International Airport will soon be serving international flights hopefully next year. There will be a big preparation of expansion of its passengers, parking lots and cargo terminals to accommodate huge airport users.
There will be an auction of its maintenance and operation scheduled this coming December 1, 2015.
