When you are sad, hurt, dying, lonely, mess, judged, ignored, suicidal, stressed, confused, fucked up, depressed misunderstood, tired but still living, hurt but won’t show it, screaming but is silent, in pain but still smiling. Don’t give up! Everything will be alright very soon. We all hear this kind of talk from our friends but what pushes someone to commit suicide? Below are some factors that can push someone to commit suicide and I believe that Julia was not exempted of this too.
1. Desperation. We don’t know what causes this feeling to emerge because that would depend on situation the attemptee is in. In some cases, there are times people commit suicide because they are desperate to make things right or they are desperately looking for a way out and the only way would be death.
2. Depression. The most common reason why people commit suicide. Why? Because they are accompanied with a pervasive sense of suffering to the point that they believe that everything is a hopeless case. People who were around Julia never noticed her to be depressed because depression can never be detected because they are silent killers. They might act cool or nonchalant but deep inside they hide all their sadness in the deepest parts of them. For me the paintings that Julia drew were already signs of this sickness.
3. They’re crying out for help and don’t know how else to get it. This the result of depression. Clouding one’s judgement and clear mind. Depressed people will always cry out for help and it would be best to attend to them and not ignore them. All they need is just a listening ear.
In the case of Julia, this, of course, could be considered a phase but never ignore a person who has been acting weirder than usual around you lately. They only need someone who can listen to them and comfort them. Then, again, our deepest condolences to the family of Julia Buencamino.
