Lake Pinamaloy is the treasure and pride of Don Carlos, Bukidnon. One of the tourist attractions in Bukidnon, and is being developed more by the municipality of Don Carlos. This lake must be protected and treasured since it is the beauty that never fades in the municipality and brings life.
Probably, everyone will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake itself. In facts, it is the very common place that lovers usually visit because of the solemnity within the place, and it is quite perfect. This is also an ideal place to take a moment and discern for oneself. Innocent children enjoyed playing around Pinamaloy Lake. It is also very significant for couples around Don Carlos, for it has been part of their love story.
The bountiful lake of Don Carlos, which is likely to be a guitar in shape via aerial view, got its name from an old fairy tale story that it passed from generation to generations.
Legend says that long time ago there lived a couple who longed to have a child. One ordinary day there came an old woman and she told them that they would soon bear a child but in one condition, she child is not allowed to step on the ground. Months passed by and the wife gave birth to a very charming baby girl and named her Pina. They never failed to give Pina the abundance of life except one thing, and that is the condition said by an old woman way back then.
But one incident, out of Pina’s curiosity of why she’s not allowed to step on the ground, she tried and went down. Upon the moment she stepped on the ground, it began to shake. Pools of water came out and she magically disappeared. Her parents are too worried that they look for her, kept on calling her name with agony “Pina malooy ka”.
That was the beginning that the pools of water is came to be that Lake Pinamaloy, the lake was named after her.
