A rarely seen sea creature was found at Cagayan d Oro specifically at Barangay Gusa. Oar fish is believe to be a sea serpent, and messenger of the sea. They are rarely seen in the surface since they are actually living in the depths part of the sea up to 3,000 ft.
This year, the oar fish that was found at Cagayan de Oro was the 6th. The oar fish was found alive at Saturday (February 18) afternoon but later on die, and is said to be 15 ft long. This made the residents living nearby the city to worry due to rumours that this predicts earthquake. Expert believe that deep-sea fish are capable of sensing tremors on the Earth’s crust. According to Kiyoshi Wadatsumi, in a statement published by Japan Times, such aquatic creatures are more sensitive to the movements of faults.
Before the magnitude 6.7 quake hit Surigao City, an oar fish was found at the shore of Agusan del Norte. But this earthquake issue is still in theory.
